Our country was built by immigrants, we are all descendants. Legal immigration should be protected while illegal activity should be discouraged.
Our borders can be made more secure. This would not just discourage undocumented entry but also lower the chance of dangerous devices slipping through.
It is important that we remember that people crossing the border illegally break the law. There are equally worthy people working hard to go through legal channels to enter our country. They should not be denied access while we reward the illegal activity.
If an illegal immigrant contributes to the workforce, pays taxes and abides by US law for a decade; after a reasonable fine is paid, amnesty is granted. Until amnesty is achieved, undocumented people will not be eligible for unemployment, social security etc..
Basic medical care is provided to all, as it is a fundamental human right.
